With deep blue cloth-covered boards & a colorful paper pastedown to front, lettered in gilt to front & spine (heavily faded here), this hardcover 4to (8" x 10.75") is in VG- condition: generally quite clean, with a slight dampstain to top outer fore edge-side corner of about half the pages toward rear. Old gift inscription in pencil from 1931 & in pen from 1929 in rear; else unmarked save for random small spots. Stitched binding is strong & straight, hinges secure, pages creamy white with light, age-appropriate tanning. Exterior shows rubbing to extremities, heaviest at corners & both ends of spine, which are also slightly pushed. A lovely copy! There are illustrations throughout that depict several scenes described for each myth. All the illustrations are in color and there are six that are full page. There are full pages of text as well. 10" x 7 1/2" Margaret Evans Price is well known and highly regarded for her illustrations. The condition is fine. The front cover picture is worn and has some damage. The front end paper also has some damage, one page has a tear.
