This is the first of two volumes presenting the proceedings of the 1st International Congress of the International Society for the Study of Fatty Acids and Lipids (ISSFAL). It includes a summary of the round table discussion on The Future of Fatty Acids in Human Nutrition: Health and Policy Implications as well as the Health Message Statement on Fatty Acids developed by a subcommittee of the ISSFAL Board.
