Biografía del autor:
Mike Read is Chairman of the British Plaque Trust, and in 2017 worked with the BBC to create almost fifty plaques to musical icons for BBC Music Day. He has won ten Broadcaster of the Year Awards and as a TV presenter has fronted such top-rated shows as Top of the Pops, Pop Quiz, Saturday Superstore and six years reviewing the papers on Sky News. On radio he joined Radio One from Radio Luxembourg, hosting the Radio One Breakfast Show for almost six years, later presenting the breakfast shows on Classic FM, Jazz FM and the Gold Network and the drive-time show for Capital Gold. Mike is joining United DJ's www.uniteddj.com as the breakfast show presenter from April. The station is due to go live on 2nd April, is intended to broadcast live via stream around the world 24 hours a day and its ethos is to capture the liberated spirit of Radio Luxembourg, with a free programming policy, playing DJs personal choices of mainly heritage, sprinkled with new music. By its nature it's aimed at music loving over 50s, but is not exclusive to that market. A Knight of Malta, he has written 37 books, written songs for over forty major artists, eight stage musicals and is an Ambassador for the Prince's Trust. www.mikereaduk.net About the British Plaque Trust A Blue Plaque promotes the history of a building and some of its notable inhabitants. It is also a recognised symbol of national English heritage and has been successively run by the Royal Society of Arts, the London County Council, the Greater London Council and, since 1986, English Heritage. The key objective of the British Plaque Trust (BPT) is to resurrect this national scheme which commemorates the lives and successes of notable figures by recognising the buildings and places which they inhabited. The scheme is an endorsement of British innovation, creativity and success throughout history. https://blueplaquesite.com

A blue plaque is a recognised symbol of our national heritage; a living footprint of our history with each one serving as a permanent reminder of an important contribution to the history of the country.
