Joanne Frances DeWald's interest in paper began with a bookbinding class she took while earning her degree in Illustration at Philadelphia College of Art. After college Joanne worked for 22 years as a graphic designer. When that ended, she gravitated back to her two favorite things: paper and baking. Joanne discovered an artist online who inspired her with 3 dimensional paper work. One day Joanne decided to make a paper pumpkin. That was the first of her sculptures. That pumpkin is the same one illustrating her mom and grandmom’s pumpkin pie recipe inside.
