During this Thoreau-inspired journey, she read the Genesis story for the first time and was struck by the simplicity of creation. For her, the birth of mankind directly - as opposed to indirectly - by a Divine Being resonated as a more logical truth. It is this connection between humans and God, science and religion, flesh and spirit that Maureen shares in her study of ancient knowledge and modern discoveries.
