She served on the board of directors for the American Association of Legal Nurse Consulting, including one year as president. She has written or coauthored more than 130 books, chapters, case studies, online courses or articles. One of her best known works is Legal Nurse Consulting, Principles and Practices, Second Edition, which she edited. She was a coeditor of Nursing Malpractice, Fourth Edition, published in 2011. Patricia Iyer also coedited Medical Legal Aspects of Medical Records, Second Edition, published in 2010.
