Reseña del editor:
This children's book is done in rhymes. It is a fun read any day of the year, but even more perfect on or around St. Patrick's Day. The story is about an elf who is displaced from his home and is "poofed away" to another place. A young boy finds the worried little elf and helps him to figure out when and where he might be able to go back to Elf-land. There is also talk of pots of god and elf-secrets. The illustrations add to the fun of the story.
Biografía del autor:
Charlene Hoyt began writing while she and her husband were managing a busy household of six children. She credits many of her ideas to those experiences. Her inspiration for Irish stories about leprechauns and elves came when a teacher asked her to read a story to her kindergarten class celebrating St. Patrick's Day. As she began searching for a book she liked, it suddenly occurred to her that she could write her own. Taking from her Irish heritage and her love of writing, Charlene soon discovered it to be fun, a challenge, and a perfect fit. From that day on she was intrigued by leprechaun stories and just kept writing them. She has written many short stories for children's periodicals. Poofed Away on Shamrock's Day is her second book to be published. She lives in Southeastern Wisconsin with her husband Roy and her Golden Retriever, Clancy.
