Reseña del editor:
The title sounds daft because (or in spite of the fact that) it's a quote from Richard Nixon upon seeing China's Great Wall. Walls from all over the globe are arranged in the following sections: symbolism, protection, materials, ornament. Hundreds of walls are represented in small, color photographs, while the text fluctuates between the general meditation or historical statement, and specific descriptions of particular walls. Walls span the Wailing and the Great to Grandma Prisbee's Bottle House and Les Grimes' "Hog Heaven," a pig paradise painted on the wall of a former L.A. meat packing plant. Some of the more incredible walls pictured and described are those once found near the Berlin Wall and those walls taken over by nature. No index. Annotation c.
