Comprised of singer David Johansen (who would reinvent himself as Buster Poindexter in the '80s), legendary guitarist Johnny Thunders, drummer Billy Murcia and bassist Arthur 'Killer' Kane (who was the subject of the acclaimed documentary 'New York Doll'), the Dolls are the acknowledged influence of bands as diverse as Blondie, the Ramones, Aerosmith, Motley Crue, Guns N Roses, Morrissey/The Smiths and the Sex Pistols.
