MASTERING WATERCOLOUR: Learn from Five Masters of the Medium - Tapa dura

The five contributors go beyond the normal brief of art-techniques books to demonstrate that there are different ways of painting a subject, even when using the same medium, in this case, watercolour. Here they explain the equipment they use and show how to make preliminary sketches in various media. They explore themes including landscapes, cities, architecture, the sea and mountains, and how to achieve different effects with these subjects. Four of the artists are members of the Institute of Painters in Watercolour, and the fifth, Norman Thelwell, is well-known for his cartoon work, although fewer poeple will be familiar with his work in watercolour. Ray Evans is also the author of "How to be a successful illustrator: a practical guide".
