Reseña del editor:
FOR AN INSIDER GLIMPSE of the world’s rich, famous, and overly indulged, who better to ask than the people who take care of their children? After all, these are the women (and men!) who see them before makeup and wardrobe and after a few too many cocktails. Amidst the fantastic luxury, sexy celebrities, and hyped-up household politics, the nanny certainly has more to handle than diapers and bedtimes. But if you’re just looking for dirt, you won’t find it in these pages. Instead, authors Julie Swales and Stella Reid share anecdotes and insights about what happens when money, power, and fame intersect with the highly personal arena of raising children.
Biografía del autor:
Julie Swales is the director of the childcare division of the Elizabeth Rose Agency, the most prestigious staffing agency in Hollywood. She’s placed nannies with the likes of Tom Cruise, Britney Spears, and Neil Patrick Harris. On any given day, she fields phone calls from tearful mums who need some help and sanity in their lives and traumatized good-girl nannies who’ve discovered their new bosses were in the habit of wandering around naked. Stella Reid is the costar of the television series Nanny 911, and a successful Hollywood nanny and parenting coach. She knows the awkwardness that arises when a child runs to the nanny—not the mum—for a kiss after an injury, and how lovely it is to travel in private planes after a lifetime of traveling coach. She also knows the importance of keeping firm boundaries, and realizing when it’s time to say good-bye and return to your own life.
